Homework for Wednesday

Tomorrow we will finish 3.1 by learning about the properties of water. Take notes using this animation on the properties of water. You will have a short (10 minute) quiz on the information. Any notes you take you can use.


The properties of water are so important, you can even buy a book about them here!

Educational Email Etiquette

If you are emailing me (or any other teacher) please abide by the following three simple rules:

1. The subject line should relate to the message of the email: If there is 'no subject' I will assume there is nothing in the email. Clearly you sent this email by mistake. An IB student would be savvy enough to know the subject line should relate to the message of the email.

2. Remember you are still writing to your teacher: Simply typing 'excel' will prompt me to ponder, what is this student hoping I excel at? Is he or she trying to motivate me? Additionally, "Yo! Msssss! Whad up?! Here'z my paper" is appropriate for a 90's rap video, not an email to your teacher. Instead go for the tried and true:

Dear/Hi Ms. Saxe,

(the body of your email)

Thanks!/Have a good (time of day)/See you tomorrow,

your name

3. Attachments should be saved with a relevant title_your name: For example: "CO2 Data Analysis_Saxe" is outstanding, "Untitled" or "Science Lab" is not outstanding.

How to use this blog

There are ten pages on this blog. The home page is where daily assignments are posted for Ms. Saxe's class. The remaining nine pages are resources for both Ms. Saxe and Ms. Bloodworth's classes. You will notice that many of tabs link to blank pages, resources will be added to these pages as we learn the material.

The numbers and letters in parentheses correspond to components in the IB Syllabus.

Topics 1 - 6 are core material
Topics 7-11 are for advanced higher level students

The options for SL only are: A, B, C
The options for both SL and HL are: D, E, F, G
The option for HL only is: H

There is no page for option F because we don't teach that option.
